GO SET A WATCHMAN: first chapter of Harper Lee's new novel revealed

"Since Atlanta, she had looked out the dining-car window with a delight almost physical."

Fifty-five years after TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD was released, going on to become one of the most iconic and beloved books of all time, readers around the world can finally read more words from the pen of the great Harper Lee. The phrase above is the first sentence of Lee's much-anticipated second novel, GO SET A WATCHMAN.

Mere moments ago, The Guardian newspaper in London published an exclusive sneak peek at the first chapter of GO SET A WATCHMAN, which is released around the world on 14 July.

As well as reading the chapter online, there is also a 23-minutes audiobook version, where you can listen to acclaimed Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon narrating the tale.

More to come on this book, but for now head over to The Guardian website for a read.
